Is Blogging Zoom Heading For Boom Time?

New social news and bookmarking site BloggingZoom is proving to be a rage following its Nov 1 launch - and thanks to several blogs that came out with quick reviews, BZ is certainly buzzing.

Courtney Tuttle and his partner Vic are the guys behind BloggingZoom. In just about two weeks, BZ and an earlier launch, BlogosphereNews, are creating new avenues for blogs and websites to generate search engine traffic.

According to Courtney in his post on the BZ liftoff, they had 1,485 unique visitors and 8,472 page views on the first day. The signs are good that traffic will continue to push up the numbers in the coming days and weeks.

BlockquoteWe increased indexed pages from 48 to 717. This is unheard of and to tell you the truth I don’t know if I believed that it was possible before I met Vic. This is huge for Blogging Zoom and goes to show that our plan to bring a huge chunk of search traffic is right on schedule," writes Courtney.

Kumiko's CashQuests blog was among the first to break the news with a detailed review that paints a positive picture of BZ and its effects on traffic. Knowing the popularity of CQ among money-making bloggers, news spread fast. It looks like BZ's launch created a greater impact than the launch of BlogosphereNews which has connection to the Blog Herald.

I didn't hesitate to join both sites because I can see great potential here for blogs to submit their stories for greater exposure and gain more traffic. Sometime back I had joined DropJack, another of those social content networks that focus on the blogosphere where bloggers can vote on stories submitted by other bloggers.

For far too long, we have heard too many stories about Digg being a "pain in the neck" for bloggers who submitted non-tech stories that got buried instead of being dugg. And if you submit your own story, you'll get banned. Now bloggers have choices with these new social news sites that are more open to general news.

It's probably high-time the blogosphere starts to see the Long Tail effects where more traffic resources are made available to small and medium-sized websites and blogs.

I see this as a plus for bloggers. I expect to see an increase in traffic by using this service.

I also am very excited about the launch of this new service. Just the aspect of being able to submit your own work is uplifting. Nothing is worse than writing a great post and hoping that someone will take the time to stumble it.

These blog services will change the way Google controls the web.

> neena: Unlike Digg, BZ gives everyone an opportunity to expose their work instead of waiting for somebody to stumble upon it.

> makemoneyonline: Are we seeing the changing trend now? Let's hope so.
